JAPAN VS HENRY ROLLINS
You may know Henry Rollins as the big tattooed guy on the lesbian-dominated spoken word circuit. Or maybe, if you’re some sort of sweet-toothed old bastard from Washington D.C., as the one-time manager of a local Häagen-Dazs, circa ’79.
Anyway, an expat English teacher has helped plaster Henry’s image on Asian fridge doors by teaching his students to sketch Rollins-caricatures based solely on verbal description. We’re not sure where the educational value is, but we did learn that Japanese babies draw better than our adult selves – and that, to some of them, Rollins sounds less like a hardcore Black Flag beefcake and more like a pulsating hard-on?
